Jay Soneff Managing Broker

Jay M. Soneff is a third generation, Colorado Native. Attended John F. Kennedy High School where he earned a baseball scholarship at the University of Colorado and played under head coach, Irv Brown. Jay graduated from CU with a B.S. in Real Estate/Finance with Economics as emphasis in 1977. In 1985 Mr. Soneff graduated from the University of Denver with a Masters Degree in Real Estate Finance and Construction Management.The degree qualified him to immediately test for the Colorado Real Estate Broker’s license which he obtained in 1978 and became the youngest practicing Broker in the State at the age of 23. In 1978 he started his real estate career as a Broker for Duncan and Duncan Realtors, a small neighborhood brokerage company in southwest Denver and within one year he became the top producer in the office out of 10 full time sales people.

In 1980 Jay left Duncan and Duncan and associated with Moore and Company Realtors, the largest independently owned real estate firm in the state. Once again, Jay would lead the office in total sales production and total commissions earned.

In 1981 he formed Northwest Properties, Inc., a commercial brokerage firm that specialized in downtown Denver land assemblages and commercial real estate development joint ventures. In the early eighties he assembled large land holdings and participated in several office and retail developments including what is now the Denver Chamber of Commerce building. located at 1445 Market Street in Lower Downtown.

Jay formed Jamis Companies Inc., in 1982, a multifaceted real estate company that included development, brokerage joint ventures, syndication, and consulting. In 1985 Jamis Companies Inc., commenced development of several shopping centers and apartment projects in the north suburban areas for its own portfolio and holdings for other private individuals.
